People out here keep talking about the 3500’ers, and today we finally got to see why. What a nice winter pick-me-up.
Swimming hole #6 of the summer was spectacular (and cold)! Made all the more special by dear friends from California. To top it off, a couple pounds of black trumpets we found along the two mile hike back, sautéed up with ground pork and tomat
August has been a whirlwind! Too much to do, too little time - somehow I’d thought country life would slow things down a bit.
Anyways, here’s Baxter.
Mini-forage for lunch

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Starting off 34 with a cleansing swim. Wish you all could be here! (Come visit!)
Trying to beat the heat - our landlord gave us a treasure map to his favorite secret swimming hole. He called it “middle earth”, and boy was he right.
